Nuit Blanche 08 - Exhibition at PGAV Rencontres

At Nuit Blanche 08 in Paris, a cultural event taking place during the
whole night, PGAV and View Photography Magazine organise an "Open

Flabber - De Fur gaat Ver
Weblog Flabber, who are now creating their own content,
made a
series of episodes about Vieze Freddy (known
from the Dutch band
De Jeugd van Tegenwoordig) going on adventures in glorious Scotland.
I tagged along to take pictures of this entertaining endeavour, and I
got to meet plenty of interesting and ancient locals on the way.
Keep an eye out for the episodes on Flabber, which will air weekly,
on Thursdays at 16:00. Pictures will be online soon!

Hit the Road - Exhibition at Dom Square in Utrecht
Hit the Road is a photo event that will take place
at various locations around
the centre of Utrecht. It comprises three exhibitions that will show different
sides of documentary photography.
I took part in a project that sent each of ten photographers to cover
an area
in Utrecht. Shooting Northeast Utrecht, I photographed nothing but lush
summer vegetation.

Les Rencontres d'Arles photo festival - Exhbition
Wim van Sinderen, director of the Photomuseum of
The Hague, was asked to
pick three Dutch photographers to represent The Netherlands in a European
Night. Each European country will be showing work of three photographers
in
this event, and I am proud to say my work will be shown here as well,
along
with work by Hanne van der Woude and Awoiska van der Molen.
Rencontres d'Arles is a week long festival in the south of France.

Festival update - Pinkpop
2008
I had the pleasure of photographing Pinkpop, the
music festival. This is me
with music journalist Arne van Terphoven. Together we are creating the
book
Het Festivalgevoel (which can roughly be translated as The
Festival Feeling).
With 60.000 visitors everyday for three days, it was the busiest edition
of
Pinkpop so far. 130.000 people going insane in hot spring weather proved
very,
very photogenic. I can´t wait to show some of the images, but I´ll
have to be
patient. The book will come out spring next year, a few weeks before the
next
festival season kicks off.

The Living Other - Book release and auction in FOAM
The Living Other is a photo book about
animals and animal suffering curated
by Ata Kando, Diana Blok and Sacha de Boer, with photographs by many great
photographers, such as Koos Breukel, Hannes Walrafen and Charlotte Dumas.
The book features three of my photographs.
Many of the photographs from the book, including mine, will be auctioned
at
FOAM (Fotografiemuseum Amsterdam) on June 5th. The
photographs will be
up for viewing on June 3rd, 4th and 5th. Most of the revenue will go to
the
whale project ´Song of the Whale´.

Artis Zoo - Summer Campaign
I just had the honour of shooting the new summer campaign for Artis Zoo!
This is me in the lemur cage, and yes, that is a lemur licking my banana
covered fingers! Petting giant snakes and hugging slobbering camels
was a childhood dream come true and a hard week's work all in one.
Keep an eye out for the campaign come June.

Festival Season Kickoff
I'll be photographing music festivals over the summer:
we had a grand kickoff
at Trance Energy. Possibly one of the most depressing festivals
ever, it was
pretty much like walking around in a huge, dark gym, with most people
on xtc.
