Work in Progress

During the making of On Loving Animals, I developed a persistent fascination for hunters. A few years later, I enrolled in hunting classes in order to get an inside view of their world, and to try and understand what hunting really entails. For several years I’m following hunters across Northern Europe, Africa and the US.

In a few years time I intend to create a book that is part text, part photography. I feel that hunting as a subject is too complex to show in images alone, there is far too much interesting and controversial cultural background to be researched. My own personal experience in this endeavor will also be incorporated. Although The Hunt is a work in progress, I am exhibiting and publishing work from the series in between hunting seasons.
